This is my blog. It’s about my moving to Australia. I’m trying to give you an idea of what it’s like moving to Australia. I’m writing about things I see everyday, things someone will have to do once they decide to move here, general facts and tips and lots and lots more. I’m also taking pictures of many places here and they are all on my instagram for you to see. This blog is linked to all my social media too, where I’m also posting relevant things.
It has been a long time since I last posted, and I sincerely apologize So many things have happened since then, and I believe I have also changed as a person. Let me brake it down for you…
I had just came here, not knowing what to expect, or maybe expecting the wrong things to be more precised. If I can say one thing that is that moving to another country is hard as hell for millions of different reasons. Taking me as an example, I came from a place that everything was provided to me, living with my mother, and when I say everything I am not only talking about money, food and a home. I mean the liiiittle things, the things that most of people my age do not realize.
I ‘ve been here in Australia for about 2 months now and from the moment I set foot here (well maybe a little later) I was looking for a job and let me tell you, I’ve seen some weird shit.
Now it’s time to explore Australia I said few weeks ago, yet I’ve seen so little. Let’s start from the very beginning.
The day we arrived, I did pretty much nothing but sleeping. When I finally woke up, I tried to make a list, to get some things done.
So we made it to Australia! Today I feel the need to talk about the journey. It was a long one, 31 hours with 3 fights, to be more specific. Lots of goodbyes at the airport, and a great amount of tears made me wondering if it would be better to be alone at the airport instead of having all those people you love with you, looking at them being all sad and teared up, giving promises that I didn’t know if I could keep…
As I’ve mentioned before, I had some trouble figuring out if I’d be considered Domestic or International student, but yesterday I asked the lawyer who had applied for my visa and I could say, things are way clearer now.
GREAT NEWS ARE GREAT NEWS.
The visa I was waiting for, has been granted!! After what had happened with those wrong papers we’d sent, I was starting to think I will only be able to leave mid December but right when those thoughts were crossing my mind, the visa grand notice came!
I was, and I still am so happy and at the same time so sad. Things are getting real. All this time I hadn’t realized that I’m actually leaving Greece, that I’m actually leaving all those people I love, I hadn’t even realized I love so many people.
AND THIS IS MY FIRST VLOG
As I’m moving to Australia, I obviously, have to stay somewhere, and as my dad lives in Australia, I will stay with him for the fist months or so but I hope I can get my own place soon. He lives in Melbourne so that’s where I’m going to live.
Let’s start from the very beginning. My dad was born in Greece but raised in Australia since the age of 12 when he came back to Greece. He used to live in Greece until about 3 years ago when he decided to move back in Australia as he was an Australian citizen and he had that great choice, and he did.
